The Long Awaited Transitional Justice Policy Passed in Uganda!

Finally! On Monday 17th June, 2019 Cabinet approved the National Transitional Policy that will not only address the gaps in the formal Justice system for post conflict situations, formalize the use of traditional justice mechanism in post conflict situations, address gaps in the current amnesty process, facilitate reparation processes and programmes but also facilitate reconciliation and Nation Building.

The victims and survivors of war have waited for so long for this and this will definitely be great news for them. There’s finally a light at the end of the tunnel!
